Invisalign Palatal Expander
Until now, the only way to expand a patient's upper palate was to use a metal expander that affixes to two rear molars. It requires a crank key to turn the interior rod to gently and slowly push the palate wider. Your orthodontist would tell you how many cranks per day, week, etc., to complete the palatal expansion part of your treatment.
Discover Orthodontics has a line to the newest expander, brought to you by Invisalign. It's not like anything you have ever seen in orthodontics, and Discover Orthodontics is known for offering advanced technology to its patients for correcting teeth. The 3D Printed Expander
The Invisalign expander is a 3D-printed expander made specifically to fit the patient's mouth alone. Scanned images are taken of your child's mouth to get the exact shape and measurements for the expander. It is then custom 3D-printed for a precise fit, comfort and specific patient needs. It is removable and does not require any manipulation or turns done by parents. Due to its removable nature, it will not require the patient to alter their oral hygiene regiment (no special brushes needed) and allows one to enjoy all their favorite foods (as there is no food restrictions). Precise, comfortable, customizable…this is a brand new way to facilitate palate expansion, a fantastic alternative to a proven therapeutic method. Find out if your child is a candidate for this technologically advanced orthodontic device by scheduling a consultation at either our Brampton or Burlington location.
Should You Use the Expander with Traditional Braces or Invisalign?
The great news is that the Invisalign palatal expander is compatible with both traditional braces and Invisalign aligners, so there are no restrictions to your overall treatment plan.
